4 ways to keep up with your YouTube subscriptions
They differ in how much you see before you decide to watch.
| Method | Your effort | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| Scrolling the subscriptions feed | Check YouTube every day | Titles and thumbnails, the content stays hidden in the video |
| The notification bell | React to a ping for every upload | A reminder that a video exists, nothing more |
| Newsletters from creators | Subscribe channel by channel | Only from the few creators who write one, each in its own format |
| MindGem digest | Pick your sources once | One email with short summaries of every new video from all your sources |
How the digest works
- 1
Follow channels or playlists
Add the YouTube links in your dashboard. New videos are summarized automatically.
- 2
Choose what goes into the email
Pick the sources, how many highlights you want (5, 10 or 20) and the language. Videos you added by hand can be included too.
- 3
Read one email
Highlights get a short summary. Every other new video appears as a linked title, so nothing gets lost.
What the digest cannot do
Good to know before you turn it on.
Fixed send time
Emails go out at 08:00 UTC. You cannot pick your own time zone yet.
Daily only on paid plans
The Free plan gets one email a week, on Monday.
English or German
The email itself is written in English or German. Other languages fall back to English.
Very busy weeks
With a very large number of videos, some email apps may shorten the message. The full list is always in your dashboard.
